Why would a place where decent people get a decent pay is such a drab place? First and foremost, its because we're in Malaysia!! Compared to Japan (discipline) and Western (competitive) culture, Malaysian have a unique office culture. Who in the right frame of mind allowed their staff to have brunch at 10am, which is only about 2 hours from lunch hour?? Yes, if implemented correctly, it can be beneficial, but it can also give room to complacency.
And Malaysian have a rather low or non-existent meeting manners or protocols. I always believed that, no matter how you hate your boss (or maybe even jealous), we have to respect him/her because he/she is there right on top of the organization/department/section. If any disagreement aroused, we shouldn't raise our voice. Instead, talk diplomatically and that is what separating us from uneducated fools.
Maybe i just hate the idea of spending my lifetime stuck in the office. I just can't, I'm too independent for office works. But we'll see. Who knows what in store in the future. Like it or not, if this is my destiny, I have to work it out someday. Future Norman, that's your problem to settle.
